We Have Rockin’ Behavior!

When students come to Music Class, they automatically begin on the color green (“Let’s Rock and Roll”). Green means they are doing a good job. If they move up to yellow (“You’re a star”), it means they are doing a great job. If they move up to purple (“You’re a rockstar”), it means they are doing awesome and will receive a reward. If they go to blue (“Singing the Blues”), it means they have been given a warning and need to fix their behavior. If they go to red (“The Show is Cancelled”) then we will stop music and review rules and good behaviors.

This is my second year as the music teacher at Riverside Primary. I teach Kindergarten and First Grade. We learn all sorts of new things in music. Students will get to experience many different instruments including, djembes, bongos, congos, temple blocks, wood blocks, maracas, tambourines, triangles, xylophones and many other small instruments. Students will also learn concepts such as, high/low, loud/soft, tempo, dynamics, note reading, form, instrument families, listening skills and movement skills.
